M:40 - Swedish crust/hardcore since 2002!

M:40 formed in the small town of Lidköping, Sweden back in 2002 and has since then released four albums and several ep's, with over 20 years as an active band in the diy-scene.

With inspiration from classic d-beat outfits like Tragedy, Skitsystem and Wolfbrigade, but also from metal bands like Neurosis, Sepultura and Cult Of Luna, they´ve created their own sound in metal and punk landscape.

Simply one of the best sets this year (Obscene Extreme Fest 2023):

"...and already the first notes created a chilling atmosphere, which was cut through by the dense vocals of both singers. The riffs often seemed to me to be "cut out" from sludge/doom bands and I "groaned" all the more, although it is clear to me that many fans at OEF primarily want "machine gun fire" rather than slower styles. Anyway, even M:40 can speed up and harden even more. After all, I see their strength in the perfect work with the setlist, the change of tempo and the resulting powerful whole. When one dreams of what it would be like in the dark, or in a club... Simply one of the best sets this year, which came to me like a "disarmed grenade"..."
