A once-in-a-century sound in the heart of Copenhagen! 

Ukraine House in Denmark invites you to Sankt Ansgars Kirke for an extraordinary concert by the National Bandura Capella of Ukraine—the country’s oldest music collective, now celebrating its 107th year. This charity concert is part of a European tour raising funds to support Ukrainian culture, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the preservation and promotion of authentic Ukrainian artistic heritage.

The Capella is a unique cultural phenomenon: forty-five musicians sing and play the bandura—Ukraine’s national instrument—simultaneously, creating harmonies rooted in the ancient kobzar tradition that totalitarian regimes tried to erase but that has endured and grown stronger. Several current and former members of the Capella are today serving on the front line, giving the ensemble’s music a profound urgency and depth.

The program, “Strings of Courage: Ukrainian Musical Journey”, is an 80-minute concert without intermission. It will include beloved Ukrainian folk songs, regional melodies, patriotic works that speak to today’s struggle for freedom, and reimagined modern classics. The evening also features the ensemble’s orchestral group with sopilkas, cimbaloms, clarinets, bass, bayan, and percussion, creating an unforgettable soundscape.

The exceptional acoustics of Sankt Ansgars Kirke will beautifully complement the resonant, harp-like sound of the bandura, showing how its strings carry the Ukrainian struggle through the century.

Український Дім запрошує вас на винятковий вечір із Національною заслуженою капелою бандуристів України імені Г.І. Майбороди, яка цього року відзначає 107-річчя. Цей благодійний концерт є частиною європейського турне з метою фінансово підтримати українську культуру, Збройних Сил України та збереження і популяризацію української музичної спадщини.

Капела бандуристів — це 45 музикантів, які одночасно співають і грають на бандурах, національному інструменті України. Їхня унікальна традиція сягає корінням у мистецтво кобзарів — мандрівних співців та хранителів народної пам’яті. Репертуар капели вистояв попри репресії та війни, стаючи лише сильнішим із покоління в покоління. Сьогодні дев’ятеро чинних і троє колишніх артистів капели захищають Україну на фронті.

Програма концерту “Струни сміливості: українська музична подорож” — це 80 хвилин улюблених українських народних пісень та мелодій, сучасної української класики у новому звучанні, та оркестрового звучання сопілок, цимбал, кларнетів, баяну, контрабасу та ударних. 

Цей концерт в прекрасній церкві святого Ансагра — унікальна нагода почути струни бандури, що крізь століття несуть відвагу, силу та надію українського народу.
