Why is Blue Biotech in our attention
The emerging and very lucrative market for marine biological material for use in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, forage, food ingredients etc. holds many exploitation opportunities yet to be taken advantage of. Today only 5% of what is harvested on the planet is derived from the planet’s oceans - primarily by the fishery industry. The synergy effects of Marine Biotech make the industry a central influent on other types of Biotech industries, such as the market for industrial enzymes, additives, pharmaceuticals, functional foods (eg. vitamins in spring water), aqua cultivation of vegetables and plants, cosmetics and agricultural products. In addition, the use of Marine Biotech spreads rapidly to new industrial domains, including bioprocessing and restoration of ecosystems. Marine Biotech has the potential to solve many global challenges, including; climate, environmental and humanitarian (food). We believe that an intensified focus on the cross-industrial synergies in the sector will enable greater focus from industrial partners, research partners and the venture capital sector, and leverage a range of new innovative startups and job opportunities.

Europe's leading Blue Growth Innovation Network, connecting Industry, Research, Investors and startup ecosystems to support the commercialisation of valuable Blue growth research and ideas.
We have the coolest job: We are at the frontier of industrial trends, tech scouting, matchmaking and startup development. We have created the innovation network Blue Tech Cluster to enhance business development by regarding the ocean as an innovative resource. We do so by creating a forum and events where we bridge industry, researchers, investors and innovative communities, who share a common goal - to support the startup ecosystem and in-house innovation, to celebrate successes and learn from failures.
We also bridge the many synergies from the ocean as an innovative resource to other industries, such as agrotech, foodtech, health tech, cosmetics, robotics and more.
