The group plays original compositions that combines inspiration from jazz and traditional music from Senegal, Ghana, Sweden and Denmark. Rhythm & Wind Orchestra was formed by leading flutist and percussionist from Ghana Dela Botri together with Danish sax player Katrine Suwalski.  Together they sent out a duo album: Ghana Calling in 2018. The Trio, includes also Danish based percussion master Ayi Solomon from Ghana. On this concert they feature the fabulous kora player Lamine Cisshoko from Senegal/Sweden. Lamine Cisshoko says: ”I am inspired by the mandingo melodies inherited from my griot ancestors. I weave and braid together jazz tunes with oriental melodies, nordic folk music and improvisations. My kora is a soft and mystic companion, my voice for harmony and respect.” 

Lamine Cissokho is from Casamance region in southern Senegal, and comes from a family of mandinka griots, whose traditions date back to the 14’th century. The kora is passed from father to son, so are it’s melodies and apprenticeship. Lamine has lived in Sweden since 2001 and has performed in concerts and festival in over fifteen countries. 

Dela Botri, is an internationally acclaimed musician who plays the Atenteben, a Ghanaian traditional flute made out of bamboo. Leader of nine-piece Ghanaian band- Hewale Sounds. Lead singer and percussionist as well. He waxes into the contemporary while keeping a link to his roots and has been compared to African artists such as Habib Koite, Salif Keita and Youssour Ndour. 

Katrine Suwalski is a musician and a composer of considerable scope and imagination. She has created her own distinctive fusion of Jazz and West African Influences. Front figure of her band, “Another World “, she has collaborated with soloist from in and outside Denmark. As a composer she is inspired by polyrhythms of Westafrica, and by great jazzcomposers such as Ellington, Mingus and Abdullah Ibrahim. Her music is now being discovered and recognised in Ghana where she has been touring regularly since 2015. In 2016, a film about Katrine Suwalski and her band was presented by Ghanaian film director Dr. Gameli Tordzro, in his documentary series “Music Across Borders”.

Ayi Solomon, Virtuoso percussionist, lives in Denmark. Plays with Kojo Antwi (GH). Ayi Solomon grew up in Accra, but left Ghana in the early 80’s with the reggae band Classic Vibes. Since then he has made a big ca-reer on the international Jazz and World Music scene. He has played with US musicians: Randy Brecker, Jerry Bergonzi, Adam Nussbaum. Especially known for his cooperation with New Jungle Orchestra and Palle Mikkelborg. He is co-producer on five albums with Katrine Suwalski.
