Welcome to the second night of Husets Biograf´s 2-day Burlesque series done in partnership with Golden Days Festival whose theme this year is "the B-side" of life. In its original form “Burlesque” was a low and vulgar entertainment that decent folk would never patronize, and hence a fitting inclusion in the festival's platter of “B-side” delights. In preparation for a full performance of the classic musical, CABARET, that will take place from October 3 at Krudttøndentheater, The Copenhagen Theater Circle tonight teases us with a preview of their take on that exciting musical production by performing a couple of the numbers.Originally set in the bawdy Kit Kat Klub in late-20s Berlin where sexual freedom flourished, the scantily clad and provocative Kit Kat boys and girls look forward to entertaining you in the one venue in Copenhagen that perfectly fits the mood of the original. Prepare yourselves for a night of sin and scintalition!

19:00= CAFE AREA OPENS
20:00 = VINTAGE BURLESQUE & VARIETY SHOW commences with CTC's Cabaret Kit kat boys and girls, followed by The Kinky Syncopators playing a soundtrack to 16-mm burlesque films. The show will conclude in glamourous fashion with two of the finest Burlesque artists in Denmark, Sophie Sioux and Porcelina Rose.

Copenhagen Theater Circle's Cabaret musical
Although Cabaret is set in 1931 Berlin, as the Nazis are rising to power, its themes remain relevant today. Rising nationalism, populism, and the “us and them” rhetoric still threaten, divide and create anxiety, and people have different ways of reacting to the current political climate. ”What would you do?” the show asks, in one of its many memorable songs and, despite the political climate being the underlying current of the show, Cabaret is about people. Their hopes, fears and – sometimes broken – dreams. The show is fun, grim, sexy, disturbing, bittersweet, and life affirming, all at the same time. It is about the choices people have to make to survive.
