28 apr 2021 kl. 19:00 - 21:15

Natural History Museum of Denmark presents
WINE & SCIENCE

CLIVE OPPENHEIMER (England) Professor of volcanology, explorer, film maker

Our international guest of the autumn season is Clive Oppenheimer, a professor of volcanology from the University of Cambridge. He has spent about three decades studying volcanoes, from Antarctica, where he has conducted fieldwork on Mount Erebus for 13 seasons, to remote Pacific islands, East African war zones and North Korea. He has made two films with Werner Herzog: Into the Inferno (2016) and Fireball (2020).

Tonight, Clive Oppenheimer will talk about his exploration of volcanoes around the world and give us insights into how far volcanologists have come in understanding how volcanoes work, and how their eruptions have acted to change history.

A glass of wine will be served during the intermission (included in the price).
