ABOUT EAR TRANSPLANT:
Led by composers Joss Smith and Matthew Grouse, Ear Transplant are a new group for contemporary music and interdisciplinary art with five key goals:
1. To invoke a sense of wonder for our audiences
2. To bring music to Denmark that our audiences have never experienced before
3. To contribute to and build a community spirit within the contemporary music field
4. To support up-and-coming artists and commission the most exciting local composers
5. To pursue each aspect of the concert/event experience with a painstaking level of care
Ear Transplant is somewhere between a concert production platform and an ensemble, with 4 core performing members as well as a rotating pool of musicians and collaborators, all of whom specialise in contemporary music performance and experimental art-making. Our flexible roster of performers allows us to programme a huge array of music, whether it embraces a multi-medial approach, novel combinations of instruments, or well known chamber forms, re-imagined and shaped by current attitudes and perspectives.
Core members:
Matthew Grouse, Joss Smith, Irene Bianco, Jónas Ásgeir Ásgeirsson
