Ecstatic Dance Ceremony 

Diving into the mystery of it all

25th of Juni from 5 pm - 9:30 pm 

This is a ceremony of free movement and deep listening. We will merge with nature before the ecstatic dance journey, in order to strengthening our intention with the ceremony and train our capability to act upon our intuition.

This time we’ll dedicate the dance to the mystery of it all. To what we only feel in glimpses when time and space stand still. It is a dance of surrendering into that which is greater than our self, to the Devine force with its Devine orchestrated timing. A Dance into the unknown...

By further playing with movement, sound and energy, our hearts are invited to lead a journey of exploration of our inner guidance. -Whether that looks like jumping around or laying on the floor is up to you.

Finally bringing the insights into tangible ways of implementing them into our everyday life.

Medicine Walk 

This type of merging with nature is called a “Medicine Walk” wich is a way of tapping into our deeper knowing by expanding the awareness within and around us. -A way of practicing deep listening to the guidance of our Soul, as it is being mirrored in nature. Potentially strengthening our intuition allowing us to receive insight to any question we may hold.

Ecstatic Dance Ceremony & Sacred Space

The Ecstatic Dance is taking place at Dansekapellet’s Kuppelsalen, which is to be seen as a Sacred Space for an inner and collective journey to unfold with respect of self and other. A space of exploration of the known and unknown and a space for your prayers to be felt. 

Invoking this sacred space will allow you to freely express yourself while simultaneously practice deep listening within and around you, as your body potentially guides you even deeper into your higher Self.

If you wish, it can be an opportunity to receive guidance from your ancestors/ helpers/ whatever you choose to believe in, to whatever question you may hold.

You may even receive visions and have an experience of connecting with a more vibrant version of your Self.

Sound 

In this space the Ecstatic Dance is guided by a sound journey in the tones of folketronica, tribal trap, medicina, psy bass and shamanic downtempo mixed with some life-Performance, as the facilitator will add a sprinkle of Channeled energy through movement and sound throughout the celebration.

You can join for just one ceremony or emerge into the monthly journey around ‘The Medicine Wheel’ ~A methodical tool that guides us to remember that we are whole, balanced and vibrational beings part of nature.

The medicine wheel is in its most basic term mapped into north, south, east and west, each representing an aspect of the significance of being a human being.

Joining all four dances throughout these coming months, will also lay a perfect foundation, if you are interested in venturing on the Vision Quest taking place the 13-24th of July in Tisvilde Hegn. ~The wildest nature in Northern Sealand.

This is the last dance around the medicine wheel. To bring it to completion we will on 

25th of June dance with our “East” ~the mystery of it all, the transformation and the trickster. 

Acknowledging that we never have 100% control, we’ll dedicate the dance to a surrendering act into that which is greater than our self, to the Devine force with its Devine orchestrated timing. As said above -a dance into the unknown in its perfect flow of unfoldment.

The evenings will look as following:

17:00-17:15

• Arrival. We will meet in the yard of Dansekapellet

17:15-18:45

• The ceremony begins
• Introduction to the concept of medicine walk. 
• Smudging (cleansing of your energy field)
• Medicine walk at Bispebjerg Kirkegaard & Utterslev Mose

18:45-19:00 

Break & transition

19:00-21:00

• Witnessing each other in Kuppelsalen
• Estatic Dance journey 

21:00- 21:30

• Closure of the ceremony

The principals of ceremony:

This is a ceremony with an opening and closure, so drop-in is not possible.

Also in respect of the space we are creating and our collective journey, you are encouraged to stay until the ceremony has been closed. 

You are also encouraged to be fasting throughout the event but feel free to bring a snack and warm tea for the little break after the medicine walk. Only water bottles are allowed in Kuppelsalen.

Tickets:

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is canceled, but can be transferred individually to another person.

Early bird until the 4th of June: 150kr

After the 4th of June: 200kr

Since ancient times, dance has been a method to free oneself from cultural conditioning and limited perception of reality. It has been utilized to alter consciousness in countless spiritual practices.

Modern ecstatic dance was revived in the 1970’s embracing the liberating effect, that free movement can have on the constructed ego’s need for control.

It is now found in many variations and interpretations across the world with a common foundation of being a space for: Free bodily expression in a substance free space where the barefooted dance floor holds great respect for the individuals boundaries. It is to be seen as a co-created dance journey where energy is being cultivated and exchanged without any talking throughout the dance.

Ecstatic Dance is an invitation to approach dance as a moving meditation allowing your mind to just to be an observer of what is unfolding. A space where the heart is the dominating guiding force of the body movement.

This form of movement and expression can also be perceived as a self-healing practice, as subconscious layers within may reveal themselves throughout the journey. -and you have the allowance to be with whatever may arise.

The facilitateor:

Cornelia Christensen is an embodied movement / sound facilitator and ceremonialist. She draws upon principles and methods inherent from a grand variety of experiences as a body therapist, ecstatic dance facilitator, vision quest guide, clairvoyant, yoga and mystic meditation teacher.

Throughout the last 10 years she has learned and worked alongside many Shamans and self-development teachers hosted ceremonies, facilitated retreats, sweet lodges and dances all across the World. Passionate about creating a professional, creative and wholehearted space for you to explore your true essence.

She is a mentor, autodidact multi-artist and intuitive sound healer weaving together ancient wisdom from all corners of the world with her own practice and academic research background (Writing her thesis on the subject of Vision Quest after training with Schools of Lost Boarders, California). This provides the space with integrity, knowledge and wholesome understanding of many waylks of life.
