The Yoga program is based on Sivananda's full body program, which opens the body through a series of positions. The level is from beginning to middle. There will be positions that are more or less challenging, but they can be adjusted to the individual in relation to where they are in their process.
It’s about being present in the body, the breath, the moment. Through the deep breathing, we open the body and thereof getting a better blood circulation, whiles we get enough oxygen to head, which makes our cortisol (stress hormone) level drop. Hence the body can produce abundant amounts of serotonin, endorphins and dopamine, which is essential for one's joy and balance in the everyday life.
Yoga is at eye level and for all.
We seek to be present in the body and feel ourselves.
There is only one teacher and it is oneself. We can mirror each other and share experiences, but each of us must make our own experiences and thereby become our own yogi.
I have practised yoga for about 10 years and a couple of years ago it was time for me to go a bit deeper into myself. I found my way to a small Ashram in South India where I got to experience myself in new depths. We were confined to the Ashram for the entire time except for one day a week where we could go out for 3 hours so there was nowhere to run so to speak. Honestly, it was quite a tough experience but it has given an inner balance and a joy of life that has not been present before, but it has also been a lesson - yoga teaches one that the pain is inevitable in this reality. It's going to hurt once in a while which becomes obvious when one is in a hard position but suffering is a choice. We can take a deep breath and smile at all times. This triggers serotonin, endorphins and dopamine giving a feeling of extra energy and inner balance.
