Join a guided exhibition tour where you meet two of the greatest pioneers of Danish architecture: the engineer Ove Arup and the architect Jørn Utzon. Together they created the Sydney Opera House. Every Thursday DAC offers you a guided tour of the exhibition ’OVE - Ove Arup and the Philosophy of Total Design’ and as an added bonus you also get a tour of the exhibition ‘Horizon’ which explores the travels and sources of inspiration of Jørn Utzon.
Ove Arup is famous for the Centre Pompidou and the Sydney Opera House. He is also described as the most influential engineer of the 20th century. Together with DAC’s exhibition guides, you can explore the many prototypes, sound installations, models, film and interactive installations behind the iconic projects. Get to know Ove and gain unique insight into his many ideas, and how he combined engineering, art, architecture and philosophy.
In the smaller exhibition gallery, the Golden Gallery, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jørn Utzon. The exhibition ‘Horizon’ showcases how Utzon’s many travels and the wide range of cultures that he met there, inspired him to create his beautiful buildings.
With a guided tour, you get an overview of both exhibitions and the possibility to explore all the stories behind them. Furthermore, there’s a chance to ask our exhibition guides all the questions that come to mind.
The exhibition tour takes 55 minutes and includes admission to DAC’s exhibitions and DAC Café.
