An interactive experience on hybrid sensing in a hybrid reality.

Hybrid Sensation - Tour Edition is a semi-automated, tour-ready edition of Jakob la Cour’s acclaimed mixed reality performance, which premiered at The Royal Danish Theatre in 2023.

This public showing at KU.BE marks the conclusion of the work’s preparation phase and functions as a final presentation before the tour begins.

Hybrid Sensation is an immersive mixed reality performance that opens new modes of sensing. The audience enters a shared sensory environment wearing VR headsets and becomes part of a responsive interaction system. The experience unfolds as a collective, embodied process where perception, body and identity are gently destabilised and reconfigured.

The work operates through glitches, shifts and transformations as active compositional elements. Digital and physical presence merge in an atmospheric environment of light and spatial sound, forming a contemporary initiation into the hybrid body.
