Introduction to Coffee is an ideal course for anyone who is new to the coffee industry or just has an interest in this wonderful drink.

It charts coffee’s journey from its origins in Ethiopia to the major commodity it is today, enjoyed by millions of people around the world. From farming the cherries through drying, roasting, brewing and finally drinking, this course looks at the processes coffee goes through.

In Part Two we explore how we taste coffee and the fundamentals of brewing coffee correctly. This is an in depth view into the chemical changes that occur when roasting and extracting coffee, therefore it all gets a bit more geeky!

  • Freshness
  • Brewing methods
  • Extraction
  • Sensory calibration
  • Why we Roast?

The course is in English and will be conducted by an Authorised SCA Trainer (AST). It last 2 hours and will have a maximum of 10 participants.

The course is part of the SCA Coffee Skills Program and by completion of Part I & II participants has the option of getting SCA Certification by paying the SCA Certification Fee of DKK 450 and passing a short written test. The test and fee is not mandatory.

Please notice that completion of Introduction to Coffee PART I is required to participate in PART II.
