Jacob Anderskov's "Resonance" + Shitney

08 dec 2018 kl. 20:00 - 22:00

Islands Brygge 18, 2300 København

Amardillo Events glæder sig til at byde publikum velkommen til en aften på Islandsbrygge Kulturhus med to stærke orkestre fra den eksperimenterende københavnske musikscene.

Jacob Anderskov’s RESONANCE:

Band Lineup
Karen Johanne Pedersen (violin)
Mette Brandt (viola)
Ida Nørholm (cello)
Jacob Anderskov (piano)
Peter Bruun (drums)

SHITNEY

Female rulers of Sun Ra’s Saturn colony? Rebel refugees from the eighties synth-pop? Goddesses gibberish trash talk? Hyperactive tone geologists that will blow your head while drilling into the core of this planet? Witty feminist criticism of masculine-muscular free jazz?

MARIA FAUST (EE) sax · effects
KATRINE AMSLER (DK) keys · microguitar · electric drumming
QARIN WIKSTRÖM (SE) voice · effects · keys

Shitney was formed in 2015 with the purpose of creating contrasting acoustic/electric music. The three members of Shitney are all sonically familiar with each other, having previously crisscrossed in various musical constellations on the Copenhagen scene. Here are three women who are all on the fringe of musical normality, in their own ways. Together, they create an unpredictable mix of the concrete and abstract, using beats and samples, as well as synthetic and organic sounds.

MARIA

FAUST - Estonian composer and saxophonist, best known for her own large groups Maria Faust Jazz Catastrophe, Maria Faust Sacrum Facere, and several smaller improvisation-based ensembles. She is the recipient of multiple awards and grants, including Danish Music Awards, NILS Prisen,

Estonian Jazz Award, and many others.

KATRINE AMSLER - Danish composer and keyboard player, best known from her constantly changing and innovative band Television Pickup and as a solo artist under the name Tuba Dynamite. Amsler also works with improvised music in a number of different ensembles. Alongside being a live musician she works as a producer and makes sound design and music for computer games.

QARIN WIKSTRÖM - Swedish composer and vocalist, best known for her band Kostcirkeln, and as a member of the collective ensembles Sekten and Babakarej. Wikström also works as a contemporary dance composer and performer, as a solo artist under the name Q, and in a number of smaller

sized improvisation-based ensembles. She is the recipient of multiple Danish Music Awards, and a winner of Denmark’s National Arts Foundation’s three-year working grant.
