The Black existence; experience and history has long been pushed to the periphery. Only in newer danish times have political movements led by Black People begun to become visible.In the summer of 2020 black movements gained global momentum in the wake of the police murder on George Floyd. In Denmark, thousands of people marched on the streets in solidarity for BLM. But in Denmark we also saw both the media and politicians de-legitimise black people’s opposition to racism, anti-blackness, and the deathly violence inflicted by police.We are in a world that is built on antiblackness. It exists in all institutions and systems. We believe that the core of anti-racist work should be centred on working against anti-blackness.
Write yo you, our allies in the fight against racial capitalism:Marronage and DCN have made this publication for you that wish to understand the fatal consequences that anti-blackness has globally;and who wish to fight anti-blackness structurally.

We apply theory from afro pessimism to understand and analyze how anti-blackness works.In this publication we present texts by Frank Wilderson III and Saidiya Hartmann to give an introduction to the afro pessimist frame of mind. We have also written some texts which discuss political possibilities in the fight against anti-blackness and suggestions for fighting anti-blackness in multiracial organisations.The theory of Afro pessimism does not give any suggestions for actions nor promises about strategies. The hopelessness tears down to lay bare how we are capable of building something new.We want to prioritize half of the capacity to our BIPOC friends, but everyone are welcome. If the interest is bigger than the capacity we will draw a lottery about the seats.It will be possible to buy the book for 50 kr.The event is free but we do encourage people to give a donation to Marronage.Program for the evening:

- Chief ends the evening with a music performance.Marronage is a BPOC (black, people of colour) collective of decolonial feminists, who since 2016 have told narratives of resistance and the connection between colonialism and structural racism today through magazine production, cultural arrangements for academic work, podcasts, and street protests.DCN is a collective, consisting of young black people, whose aim is to form black community in order to fight colonial and anti black structures. The activities of the organisation is shaped by panafricanism, critical knowledge and dialogue.Mikas Lang is an author, translator, and member of Marronage. He made his debut with the poetry collection ‘Melanin’ in 2019.Chief is a somali rapper, who produces music about the Ghetto laws and the police e.g. They have performed at Nørrebro Pride and the first event of Uumphff.
