Andreas Toftemark - SaxMathias Højgaard Jensen has been touring and performing regularly for over a decade and has grown to become a musician with an acute sensitivity, and presence. After spending five years in Berlin, he moved to New York where he is living and working as an active part of the jazz scene. As part of the band HOLON Trio he has performed at major venues all over Europe and released 2 albums to great acclaim. Mathias is also a prolific composer and has written works for string quartet, Symphony orchestra as well as big band and smaller ensembles.Francesco Ciniglio started playing the drums at age 6 under the tutelage of Maestro Sergio Di Natale. After moving to New York in 2010, he studied with Greg Hutchinson, John Patitucci and Fred Hersch and has shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis, Aaron Parks, Shai Maestro, Dayna Stephens, Joe Sanders, to mention a few. He now lives in Paris and is in high demand all over Europe, playing with the greatest musicians on the scene.Andreas Toftemark is a 30-year-old saxophonist and composer who currently lives in Copenhagen. Andreas has performed regularly on the New York jazz scene and has toured in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and spain - both as a bandleader and a sideman. Although Andreas' style reflects traditional jazz musicians, he has explored many genres and has played everything from bebop, hardbop, afro-cuban, folk-music, and contemporary jazz. His recent album "A New York Flight" was well received in Denmark and abroad.Having met for the first time in New York back in 2018, the three musicians were reunited during the 2021 Copenhagen Jazzfestival and immediately felt a very special chemistry that made making music effortless and exciting to listen to. They repeated the success in August, and decided to make the project a regular thing.
Returning to Søhesten in November the trio will be back with more hard-swinging, spontaneous, joyful music.
