ECSTATIC DANCE PARTY🌴☀

On Saturday 9 April, we open the doors once more to a night of ecstatic free form dancing, deep inner discovery journeys, grounding, live drumming, community fun and festivities! You can look forward to dancing bare feet on brand new floor mats, a professional sound system, visuals, amazing artists and an open and welcoming atmosphere! During the event, you are guided by experienced facilitators, DJs and musicians into a feeling of flow, ecstasy and bodily integration. Right now, our team consists of around 20 people based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and we work with partners across Northern Europe.

NEDA PROGRAM OF THE NIGHT 😍🎶

18:30 - 19:00: Welcome, joyful music and potluck (doors close at 19.00 sharp)
19:00 - 19:30: Opening circle and facilitation by Charlotte Larsson
19:30 - 21:30: Ecstatic dance set by DJ JAMA accompanied by Little Bear on drums (Australia) and vocalist Klara Larsson (Sweden)
21:30 - 22:15: Heartfelt mantras and kirtan by Jonas Larsson and Ylva Lavanya (Sweden)
22:15 - 22:30: Closing circle and integration
22:30 - 23:00: Community chat and potluck

About DJ JAMA ☀️🌴
The past many years, JAMA has served a wealth of warm, colorful, hypnotic beats at various events and festivals around Northern Europe. He usually blends genres such as organic house, ethnic/oriental, world, folktronica, and melodic techno. Sometimes he adds live-instruments to the mix so get ready for a diverse multi-genre vibe on the dance floor. This night he will be accompanied by the amazing drummer Little Bear from Australia and Klara Larsson from Sweden.

About Ylva Lavanya and Jonas Larsson 🌹
Ylva and Jonas from Sweden will put us in a state of love, joy, bliss and community as they guide us through a Kirtan which is a form of a singing circle with heartfelt mantras aimed at reaching a higher sense of consciousness.

About Charlotte Larsson 🌸
Charlotte has worked with body movements, dance and yoga for more than 20 years. She is dancing facilitator education from The School of Modern Dance, she is certified Ecstatic Dance Facilitator, yoga instructor and is currently doing a 4-year study in dance therapy. While facilitating, she will provide you with an open, safe and sensual experience allowing you to delve into the music and your unique expression.

Several dance angels and team members will be there as well to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We are looking very much forward to seeing you!

SAFE SPACE / NO ALCOHOL, INOXICATION, TALK 🌻🌿

One of the core elements of ecstatic dance is to co-create a socially comfortable and open space. A space where we can explore ourselves and our surroundings through sound and movement. Although its called 'ecstatic' it is just as much about grounding. As it’s a shared experience, we have an approach of acceptance, tolerance, and love for music and dance. Always, however, in a way where we respect and pay attention to each other's boundaries. Throughout the dance, we communicate with our eyes and bodies without words - and without the need for alcohol or other forms of intoxication. Furthermore, ecstatic dance does not require any inherent or acquired skills - while we welcome and embrace all ethnicities, beliefs and age groups. So, come as you are!

WHAT TO BRING? 🍓🥗

- A water bottle
- A towel (optional)
- Comfortable clothing for dancing
- Potluck. You are most welcome to bring some food, snacks, fruits, etc. for all of us to share at the beginning and the end (or if you get hungry in the middle). We call it 'potluck' as no one knows what we'll get. We will serve some fruits and nuts as well to keep you going!

ABOUT NEDA 💚💛

NEDA's core team members are educated 'Ecstatic Dance Facilitators' combined with multiple years of experience in yoga, meditative bodywork and music theory and practice. We promote and celebrate multiculturalism and diversity. This influences our community of dancers as well as our choice of music which typically is a combination of world, electronic, organic, folktronica and live drumming. We also seek to integrate various movement disciplines in our facilitation practices, such as yoga, martial arts and contact improvisation. Ecstatic dancing is a fun and healthy way of learning how to listen to our bodies, our senses and our longings.

Tickets are only 200 DKK for the whole night. Note that the tickets are non-refundable, but you are welcome to sell it to another dancer. Just make sure to forward the ticket via mail or in print so that we can validate it at the entrance. Thanks!
