Den prisbelønnede britisk-skandinaviske trio Phronesis tager den moderne jazz til uhørte niveauer med elektrisk energi og medrivende grooves, når de gæster ALICE.

“Det er ikke uden grund, at trioen ofte nævnes som en af de bedste i europæisk jazz i disse år.” Sådan skrev Jazznyt, da Phronesis for nylig spillede åbningskoncert til Copenhagen Jazz Festival i Brorsons Kirke. Supertrioen er til efteråret klar med deres ottende udgivelse “We Are All” (Edition Records), som kommer ovenpå et væld af anmelderoste albums (optaget i bl.a. de legendariske Abbey Road Studios i London) og gruppens modtagelsen af den prominente Parliamentary Jazz Award "Jazz Ensemble of the Year” i 2017. Vi kan kun glæde os!

Den britisk-skandinaviske trio har siden 2005 optrådt bredt i Europa og bragt deres medrivende grooves, uimodståelige rytmiske energi og mageløse sammenspil med rundt på spillesteder og festivaler i hele verden, fra Marokko til Brasilien, fra Australien til USA. De har vundet hjerter med deres rytmisk komplekse, men dybt fængende udtryk. Phronesis afsøger klangfladerne til den moderne jazz ved at forene klingende skønhed, avancerede rytmer og sofistikeret intelligens. Gruppen har flere gange prydet programmet på Copenhagen Jazz Festival og desuden spillet fantastiske koncert i Jazzhouse.

Når Phronesis med danske Jasper Høiby på bas lægger vejen forbi ALICE, er der altså tale om en toptunet trio, der live såvel som på plade har overbevist både publikum og anmeldere som Jamie Cullum, Downbeat, All About Jazz, Record Collector og The Guardian med deres virtuose moderne jazz.
