Part of the Friday Night Sharing at Dansekapellet is this double bill evening with the performances 'Sir' and 'Essendo'
Friday the 7th of May at 18.00 and 20.00
DUE TO CORONA RESTRICTIONS IT IS NECESSARY TO PRESENT A NEGATIVE TEST TAKEN DURING THE 72 HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT.
'Sir' is an examination of how we distance ourselves from each other due to hierarchy and status. How some people succumb to dominance. The piece is inspired by the formal term “Sir” still used extensively to portray men and their status. The bodies will tell a story about how we as humans are exposed to the opinions of others and how we compete against each other for status, respect and attention and the piece questions the role that gender, femininity and masculinity play.
Choreography Lucas Kruse Kristiansen
Dancers Timothy De Mesa Højgaard & Lucas Kruse Kristiansen
'Essendo' (in Italian being, the gerund of the verb to be) is a duet where the performers meet in a continuous dialogue.
The piece tries to show honesty towards the self in a journey where vulnerability is embraced, and not refrained from.
If we forego self-judgment and strip ourselves from our ideas of the future, can we allow a moment to rise and fall to its own accord and simply be?
Concept and dance: Giorgia Reitani
Live music and voice: Abraham Rademacher
Both performances are aimed at young people and adults from the age of 14. Each performance has a duration of about 20 min.
