Stefan Sagmeister Symposium
'Personal Approach to Aesthetics and Creativity'

Place: Danish School of Media and Journalism, Auditorium B1.05.
In this 3-hour symposium Stefan Sagmeister will be sharing his experiences and offering useful advices on topics like his sources of inspiration, working methods and his vision for the future of the profession.
There will be six themes:
1. What is beautiful graphic design?
2. Analytic or intuitive approach to ideation?
3. The value of handcrafted artwork
4. Social responsibility
5. Originality vs. Trends
6. Most important skills as designer of the future.
Part of the session will be the students and partners of DMJX asking questions and going in to conversation about these themes.
Stefan Sagmeister is one of the most influential and inspirational graphic designers of the 21st century. Besides developing award-winning visual brand identities, album covers, graphics and packaging for a wide range of major clients including
The Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, Lou Reed, and The Guggenheim Museum, he is also a teacher at the School of Visual Arts in New York, a writer and an artist. His personal projects include several books and lately the documentary film The Happy Film.
Solo shows of Sagmeister, Inc.'s work have been mounted in Zurich, Vienna, New York, Berlin, Osaka, Prague, Cologne, and Seoul.
