The four talks:
Joakim Old Jensen from Kanda presents a talk on UX-design for Virtual Reality, with insights on common user problematics in VR-applications and methods to solve them. The talk combines examples from four VR-projects with academic insights on the topic of user experience in Virtual Reality (45 min).
Suman Rath will give a short introduction of their "Nordic VR Startups" incubator program and let you in on what you need to do get through the loop. They invests up to 100 000 euros, provide free office space, world-class mentors over six months, and it ends with a demo day at Slush 2018.
"Eye of the Temple" is a VR game in development that delivers the experience of exploring a vast place using your own feet without teleportation, artificial locomotion, or other distractions taking you out of the immersion. Rune Skovbo Johansen discusses various approaches to getting around in VR in general, followed by a presentation of the unique approach taken in his game Eye of the Temple, and dealing with the challenges in level design it creates (30 min).
In Dave Hunt's presentation "Creating VR Content in VR with Unity", he'll give a presentation of EditorXR, where you can do level design layout and other content creation tasks directly within VR. There are a number of related tools for content creation (sculpting, animating, etc.) that have an exciting potential to really speed up the process and empower developers. He'll talk about and show videos of Unity's latest work in those areas. (15-20 min).
