In this unique collaboration with Dygo, diving into the beautiful art of dying factories was the natural way - meaning no harmful chemicals, no bleach, and no negative environmental impact. In this workshop you can harness the hidden colors of plants and dye a white cotton drawstring bag you will be making yourselves. Material Centers will provide the fabric, pretreated and pre-cut so all you have to do is sew and dye.
We will start the workshop promptly at 2pm with an explanation of the sewing and dying process so please arrive on time so you don't miss out on any important information. We will have some snacks and coffee / tea for you as well. Finally, after the workshop, we invite you to have an open discussion with us about the meaning of 'fast fashion' and how it surrounds and impacts us. All fabric provided for this workshop is donated second hand fabric.
We hope you see you there, at Valby Kulturhus, 4th floor! Entrance is completely free (but you have to reserve your place !!), courtesy of funding by Snapslanden, and all materials are included. We will also be giving you a booklet with more information on creating your own dye at home and a take home sewing project to get you started.
