Dive into the world of Russian jazz and soul music, spiced up with Natalia Dalsgaard´s poetry in English, Danish, and Russian. Born in Belarus, she has always been deeply influenced by Russian and American soul and jazz music, actually since she was born. The tree seeded by her parents, which started growing and blossoming slowly, turning into a real beauty of deep understanding and appreciation of those genres. Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Stan Getz, Charlie Chaplin, Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim, Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand, Natalie and Nat-King Cole, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, and many other American legendary icons have been her source of inspiration and understanding the true beauty of music.
Russian soul and jazz music have been the source of understanding the true meaning of life, watching favorite movies with beautifully composed and performed soundtracks to Natalia´s beloved films. Maxim Dunaevsky, Alexander Zatsepin, Eugene Krylatov, Vsevolod Buykli, Vasiliy Solovyov-Sedoy are the great Russian composers, whose songs have been performed by the greatest Russian and foreign star performers. Soulful songs, written by a Latvian composer Raimond Pauls, are well known to most Russians of the Soviet era. This concert will be a multicultural and multi-linguistic journey around Natalia´s world of music and the deeper meaning of life through her own poems, with a couple of special surprises for the audience. Expect the unexpected. Russian songs are translated into and performed both in Russian and English.
Natalia´s soulful vocals will be beautifully accompanied by Sergej Sotskov´s singing guitar and the gentle and deep sound of Jørgen Nielsen´s clarinet. Sergej and Jørgen will be playing some beautiful pieces as well.Welcome to the world of Russian and American jazz, soul, bossa, and poetry!
