    Description

    2nd Week

Rahman Hak-Hagir (Austria) and Yong Sun Gullach (Korea)

From 10th to 13th of October.

During the second week of the festival, we will meet Rahman Hak-Hagir and Yong Sung Gullach. Rahman is an half Afghan, half Austrian, artist who examines his own position as a migrant of second generation, and tries to develop his identity from two different aesthetics, the Arab and the European. Yong is a Korean artist, based in Denmark, and her consideration of migration centres around the body as a fundamental feature. Her performances focus on topics such as transnational adoption. From Tuesday to Thursday, they will offer us a workshop at KoncertSalen of VKC. This workshop will finish with a performance session during the KulturNat 2017, on Friday 13th of October.

You can follow their process by check out the hashtags of the social networks: #bodylandscapes2017 #rahmanhakhagir #yongsungullach

In collaboration with the Danish Art Foundation, Verdens Kultur Centret, Performance Køkkenet and the cultural advice of Liveart.dk, The International Performance Art Festival Body Landscapes Copenhagen, appears as a necessity to articulate the individual and collective memory of migrants based in Europe. The project will take place in Verdens Kultur Centret (Nørre Allé 7, Nørrebro) in Copenhagen, which is a cultural center that strengthens the cultural nexus of foreigners in Denmark. Through performance art, the invited artists will create a space of interconnectedness between foreigners and locals.

The project constitutes of workshops and live performances where the participants will question and play with the idea of the migrant memory.
The project is divided into four parts that each last one week. In the beginning of each week, two artists will meet in order to organize one collective experience (workshop or creative laboratory) and one performance session that will be presented during the last day of the week. The artists will have the autonomy to propose the methodology most convenient for developing their own perspective about body and territory.

This second week, the workshops will be guided by:

Rahman Hak-Hagir (afganistan) and Yong Sun Gullach (Korea)

There is a limited admittance, 15 tickets for those who are interested in 3 days of workshops, and depending on the interests of the performance artists, possibly also in the final performance sessions.
