Dunk-dunk dunk-dunk – dit hjerte slår, for det meste uden at du mærker det eller tænker over det. Men sådan er det ikke for de ca. 30 danskere, der hvert år får et nyt hjerte. For de patienter, deres kirurger, og for organdonorernes pårørende, er der mange overvejelser og udfordringer forbundet med transplantation af kroppens centrale organ, hjertet.
Til denne Aftenkonsultation ser vi nærmere på hjertetransplantationer. Hør læge og transplantationskirurg Christian Holdflod Møller fortælle om hjertetransplantationens udvikling fra de første operationer i Danmark til den nyeste ex-vivo perfusion og den succesfulde transplantation af et grisehjerte. Han vil også fortælle, hvordan en hjertetransplantation opleves set fra kirurgens synspunkt. Herefter vil Anja Bornø Jensen, lektor på Københavns Universitet, fortælle om sin antropologiske forskning, der fokuserer på pårørendes erfaringer med at donere deres kæres organer, og på de emotionelle udfordringer og etiske dilemmaer, læger og sygeplejersker kan møde i arbejdet med organdonation og transplantation.
Efter konsultationen anbefales det at tage et glas på recept og en spadseretur rundt i museets udstillinger. Begge er inkluderet i prisen.
