Jeg forestiller mig tonefaldet. Lidt stolt, lidt trodsigt.
Den kraftige hage skudt frem. Øjnene, der borer sig ind i betjentens. En imponerende figur, trods den ringe højde og det hullede tøj.
Vesterbro var allerede dengang noget særligt, et sted man var stolt af at høre til.
På denne tur fortælles historien om Henry. Fra de tidlige år i 90'erne til flugten i 1916.
Det er en på én gang dybt personlig og universel historie.
Den indeholder kærlighed og opofrelse, sammenhold og kammeratskab, men først og fremmest druk, hor,
slagsmål, fattigdom, nød og elendighed, bedrag og bristede drømme. Det hele ”stinker og har altid stunket”, og alligevel elsker vi det.
Sådan er det. Altid på Vesterbro.
