    Description

“Sonic Touch” is a sensory concert of ear massage that explores the penetrating soft power—a gentle primal force we have forgotten to honor in the noisy fog of global sound gentrification.

The highlight of the concert is Ying-Hsueh Chen's 30-minute pianissimo work “Ø,” a breath symphony written for and performed by Damkapellet. The symphony slowly transforms into a whispering string ensemble, and the relationship between audience and performer gradually changes. In the final part of the work, the orchestra plays so softly that the audience feels as if they themselves are performing the music.

Almost everything is performed at an almost whispering volume, creating a space for contemplation, presence, and sensory listening. A quiet but deeply effective evening that gently touches the human soul.

The project is supported by Dansk Komponistforening/Koda Kultur, København Musikudvalg &  Statens Kunstfond.

    Organiser
