Selandia Brass og Chorus Soranus har indgået et helt unikt samarbejde om at skabe en flot og stemningsfuld julekoncert for brassband og kor, som det bl.a. kendes fra England og Norge.
Chorus Soranus kommer fra Sorø og er et klassisk kor på ca. 40 medlemmer, der blev stiftet i 1967 af Knud Vad, og siden har haft en omfattende koncertvirksomhed i både ind– og udland. Igennem årene har koret indgået i Sorø Internationale Musikfestival. Korets repertoire spænder fra gregoriansk sang, over danske sange til klassiske oratorier – senest Mozarts Requiem.
Selandia Brass består af 20 messingblæsere og slagtøj, og er hjemmehørende i Slagelse. Orkesteret har swingende spillestil, der er kendetegnet ved de store bigbandorkestre. Orkesteret er særdeles aktivt i det lokale kulturliv og deltog i Danmarksmesterskaberne for brassbands i november, hvor de vandt 3.division og modtog prisen for divisionens bedste soloeufonium.
På repertoiret til aftens koncert er der en perlerække af kendte julesange og salmer som Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, O come, all Ye Faithful, En rose så jeg skyde, Julen har bragt velsignet bud og Dejlig er jorden som kor og orkester vil opføre både a cappella og sammen.
Der venter publikum en hyggelig og stemningsfuld aften i Antvorskov kirke med messingklang og flotte korstemmer, hvor publikum også får mulighed for at synge med på de dejlige julesalmer.
Chorus Soranus bliver dirigeret af Andreas Bigom og Selandia Brass af Jacob Vilhelm Larsen.
