Vokalmusik fra Tudorperioden, den tidlige engelske renæssance.
Ars Nova Copenhagen, et af Europas førende professionelle vokaleensembler, under ledelse af Paul Hillier. De har denne musik som en af deres absolutte specialer, fremført med ufejlbarlig intonation og intens virtuositet.
Koncertens program er centreret om Missa Tecum Principium. Det er Robert Fayrfax' måske fineste værk, hvor især den afsluttende Agnus Dei sats rummer en hjertegribende skønhed . Messen flettes sammen med fremragende værker af andre mestre fra den engelske renæssance: Lamentationer, klagesange, af William Byrd og Alfonso Ferrabosco, to gribende stykker med en nærmest kammermusikalsk karakter, samt tre mere ligefremme engelske sange af Richard Farrant, Thomas Tallis og Christopher Tye.
