Ars Novas forkærlighed for at kombinere gammelt og nyt kommer her til fuld udfoldelse. Musik af Hernando Franco, Manuel de Sumaya, Alonso Lobo, Elisha West, Christian Wolff, Abraham Wood, John Cage & Arvo Pärt.
Ars Nova Copenhagen er et af Europas førende professionelle vokaleensembler og dirigeres af den anerkendte engelske dirigent Paul Hillier. De har denne musik som en af deres absolutte specialer, fremført med ufejlbarlig intonation og intens virtuositet.
Udsøgte motetter fra Renaissancen og spændende værker fra nutiden belyser gensidigt hinanden. Værker fra den gamle verden (Europa) overfor musik fra den nye (Syd- og Nordamerika). Og et tredje nedslagspunkt omkring år 1800, hvor komponisterne i USA for alvor begyndte at træde i karakter med værker, som skilte sig ud fra den vesteuropæiske musikkultur, som de var udsprunget af.
