En iscenesat opera af SCENATET
I en helt ny musikdramatisk opsætning, præsenterer SCENATET det dragende værk Aspern Suite af den italienske avantgarde-komponist Salvatore Sciarrino. Baseret på den amerikanske forfatter Henry James’ venetianske kærlighedsdrama The Aspern Papers fra 1888, udforsker Aspern Suite temaer som tvetydige mysterier, isolation og forførende mørke i et diffust spændfelt mellem nærvær og fravær.
The Aspern Papers, som er et mystisk drama mellem to tidligere elskende, på tværs af historie og tid i en by fuld af historie og spøgelser, inspirerede i slutningen af 1970’erne Salvatore Sciarrino til at skrive Aspern Suite for sopran og ensemble; En kontrastfuld og mørk musikalsk fortælling og mini-opera, der suger kraft fra Venedig og fra Da Pontes tekster til Mozarts Figaros Bryllup.
I en på én gang drømmende og dyster iscenesættelse, smelter SCENATET Aspern Suite, lys, video og scenografi sammen til en dramaturgisk fortælling, der suger publikum ind i et sansebåret og uvirkeligt univers på tværs af tid, sted og skjulte følelser.
