Glæd dig til Aarhus Bach-Selskabs serie "Bach and Friends" hvor nutidens musikere møder Bach i nye fortolkninger. Første koncert i serien er med musikere og sangskrivere Kasper Staub og Soffie Viemose der sammen opfører "12 præludier" inspireret af den gamle mester J.S. Bach
Soffie Viemose og Kasper Staub er en del af det internationalt anerkendte indiepop-band Lowly, som har turneret i hele verden og udgivet tre anmelderroste albums.
I en årrække har de sammen arbejdet med fri improvisation, en praksis der også var udbredt på Bachs tid, men som ikke har samme plads i dagens klassiske musikpraksis - og i popmusikken for den sags skyld. I øjeblikket forsker de i metoden gennem deres stillinger som undervisere ved Det jyske Musikkonservatorium og Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium i København.
Inspireret af formatet fra Bachs Das Wohltemperierte Klavier vil de til koncerten opføre 12 improviserede præudier i forskellige dur- og moltonearter.
Kasper Staub har også udgivet to smukke solopiano-albums, trio-albums samt skrevet musik for bl.a. symfoniorkester og kor. Simon Raymonde fra Cocteau Twins skriver om klavermusikken: ”"It was no surprise to fall in love with Kasper's compositions on piano. The music is romantic, melancholic and soothing. Regular motifs appear when you are least expecting them. It was likely I would find his solo work enchanting, and that is how it came to pass."
