Bliv omsluttet af varmen fra analoge synths og ekspansivt flimrende grooves, når Chicago-trioen Bitchin’ Bajas gæster ALICE på Stairway med deres kosmiske, organiske og bevidsthedsudvidende ambient-jazz.
Indstil dit fokus på uendeligt, når Bitchin Bajas spreder kosmisk venlighed i Vanløse. Instrumentaltrioen er en glimrende eksempel på hvad Chicagos mest syreboblende eksperimentalscene har at tilbyde. Projektet er oprindeligt udsprunget i 2010 som en knopskydning af Chicago-krautrockbandet Cave, som to af gruppens medlemmer - Cooper Crain og Robin Frye - også er aktive i. Sammen med Dan Guinlivan danner de en intuitivt sammenspillet instrumentaltrio, som både trækker på kosmiske synth-stemninger fra 1970’ernes Tyskland, 60’er-minimalisme og spirituel frijazz. Sidstnævnte har de hyldet med Sun Ra-coveralbummet “Switched on Ra”.
Live benytter de håndspillede akustiske instrumenter som tværfløjte, saxofon og xylofon, der skaber fraktale soniske mønstre, som dulmer nerverne og åbner dit tredje øje på vid gab. Deres hallucinatoriske koncerter hensætter lytteren i en behagelig bevidsthedstilstand. Tiden vrides og udtrækkes: Korte numre føles som en mikrokosmisk uendelighed, og lange numre fortættes og fordamper igen lige så hurtigt som de opstod. Sidste år udkom trioen med det roste album “Bajascillator”, der er endt på årslisterne i toneangivende musikmedier som The Wire og The Quietus.
Nausia
Den eventyrlystne kvintet Nausia består af to saxofoner, bas, guitar og trommer og trækker tråde til bl.a spirituel jazz, krautrock og minimalisme. De har udgjort deres egen niche på scenen siden 2019 med deres særegne kombination af bl.a. free-jazz og kraut/progrock sammensat i et smukt forhold mellem melodisk repetition og spirituelle udbrud.
Nausia udgav i slutning af 2022 deres andet album ”Good Intentions”, og de ser frem til at blæse ALICE omkuld med en gigantisk følelsesudladninger af gode intentioner.

Mens vores koncertsal på Nørre Allé 7 renoveres, genhuses ALICE midlertidigt på Stairway i Vanløse i 2023.

Bitchin Bajas started in 2010 as a solo side project for Cooper Crain, guitarist of Chicago Krautrock heroes Cave. Since then, Dan Quinlivan and Rob Frye joined the band and Bitchin Bajas have got the public attention thanks to a perfect, extensive discography, including the Sun Ra cover album “Switched on Ra”. The trio play warm, instrumental, psychedelic and melodic ambient music, mixing minimal 60/70’s electronic with original acoustic elements: flute, saxophone, xylophone, woodwinds to name only a few.
The trio’s critically acclaimed album “Bajascillators” opens up a magical place where ideas, hopes and dreams synergise and flourish, shading out all fears and hostility. Setting their machines to hypnotise and creating a consciousness expanding lysergic synthscape, Bitchin Bajas weave a mesmerising New Age wonderland.
