    Description

BLOXHUB MORNINGS // SHARING ECONOMY IN CITIES
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY – PERSPECTIVES ON THE SHARING ECONOMY AND ITS INFLUENCE IN CITIES

This Morning is powered by the BLOXHUB Members: IFHP , Kraks Fond – Institute for Urban Economic and Danish Architecture Centre

Sharing platforms, and specific companies like Airbnb, have a huge impact on the way we live, travel and perceive our cities. As the popularity of these sharing platforms grows, their effects move well beyond the individual, challenging city authorities, traditional policies, tourism boards, rental markets and wider housing perspectives.

At this BLOXHUB Morning we will discuss the latest research on Airbnb and its influence on welfare and housing prices, giving examples on the experiences from Copenhagen, Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam. We will also discuss which potential the sharing economy has and how the coexistence between businesses (e.g. Horesta), and companies who are working with it, need to be organized.
