Mississippideltaet har fostret en lang og glorværdig række af bluesmusikere. Boo Boo Davis tilhører én af de sidste, af mange generationer, hvis musik og tekster udspringer direkte af egne erfaringer fra et hårdt og slidsomt liv. Hans far, der også var musiker, spillede med folk som Elmore James og John Lee Hooker i hans barndomshjem, så Boo Boo Davis har fået klassikeren "Dust My Broom" som vuggevise.
Miriam Mandipira er født i Zimbabwe men er de seneste år blevet udråbt til Danmarks nye store blues, jazz & gospelsangerinde. Den alsidige kunstner, der er inspireret af blandt andre Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Bessie Smith og Aretha Franklin, har optrådt ved adskillige kirkekoncerter, på spillesteder og festivaler i Skandinavien og Afrika - alle steder med forrygende reaktioner og anmeldelser
