Álvaro Siza Vieira – arkitekt, socialist og passioneret cigaretryger – giver her sine bud på, hvordan disse store spørgsmål kan besvares. Filmen visualiserer Sizas arkitektoniske værker, mens den portugisiske arkitekt selv fortæller om sin kreative proces, om sin designfilosofi og om, hvad der motiverer hans arbejde. Mød en af århundredets mest raffinerede arkitekter til en intim og afslappet samtale.
Filmen introduceres af Ina Valkanova, der tidligere har arbejdet tæt sammen med Álvaro Siza Viera på hans tegnestue i Porto. Efter filmen byder den portugisiske ambassadør på et glas vin. Tak til den Portugisiske Ambassade.
