Jonathan Swensen er en ung fremadstormende cellist, som trods sin unge alder allerede har gjort sig bemærket i ind- og udland. Med sit store talent vandt han I 2018 førsteprisen i den prestigefyldte amerikanske Young Concert Artists, Windsor International String Competition og Khachaturian International Cello Competition. I Danmark modtog han også Jacob Gade-stipendiet i 2019 samt Léonie Sonning Talentprisen i 2017.
Som solist har han blandt andet spillet med Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Copenhagen Phil, Aarhus Symfoniorkester, NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra og Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. Han kan også opleves ved diverse kammermusikfestivaler som Tivoli SommerKlassisk, Hindsgavl og Usedomer Musikfestival.
Jonathan Sweensen er uddannet fra det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium. Han har også studeret hos Professor Torleif Thedéen i Oslo og studerer nu hos Laurence Lesser på New England Conservatory i Boston.
