Copenhagen Jazz Festival VULTURE FOREST
På deres nye debutalbum, Vulture Forest, dykker den multinationale kvartet af samme navn ned i spændingsfeltet mellem det salige og det melankolske, det rolige og det ængstelige. Gruppens navn er deres hyldest til Gribskov, hvor størstedelen af musikken er blevet skrevet, men skoven af gribbe er lige så meget et billede af det 21. århundredes stressende konkurrencesamfund. Denne tvetydighed kommer tydeligt til udtryk i albummets titelnummer. Her står et meditativt guitarspil i stærk kontrast til et aggressivt akkompagnement fra trompet, trommer og bas. I nummeret Flere Lysår Væk skaber musikerne sammen et drømmeagtigt, næsten legende miljø, hvor ønsket om den indre ro bliver forløst. Vulture Forest bestræber sig på at skabe ærlig musik igennem gensidig respekt og forståelse imellem musikerne, der muliggør spontanitet, og samtidig giver dem plads til at udforme deres ideer.
