Copenhagen Jazzfestival – Jazz & Eksotisk Vegan Buffet fra onsdag d. 11. juli til lørdag d. 14. juli.Koncerterne er kurateret af musiker og sanger Deodato Siquir. Det bliver en jazzfestival der kommer til at pirre vores sanser, vi lytter til musikken, vi får stimuleret vores smagsløg, med vegansk buffet med smag og krydderier fra hele verden, mens vi spiser kigger vi på visuel kunst skabt af kunstner af kunstner Joao Paulo Bias fra Moçambique. Døren åbner kl. 18.00 for Jazz & Eksotisk Vegan Buffet.
“Jeg har altid drømt om at lave et Nina Simone Projekt, en hyldest af hende som den powerfulde, unikke kvinde, musiker og kunstner, hun var. Jeg kan relatere til alle de kvinder, hun fortolker gennem “Four Women “. Jeg beundrer hendes mod og talent for at informere verden om de sortes kamp for frihed og ligeværdig respekt. Jeg glæder mig til at fortolke Nina Simones egne sange og nogle af de mange smukke sange, hun har fortolket og gjort til sine helt egne. Mit band, to fantastiske kunstnere og jeg inviterer publikum på en visuel og musikalsk koncertoplevelse, hvor der er kræset om detaljerne.” - Maria Thandie ________

I can relate to all the women she interprets through “Four Women.” I admire her courage and talent and informing the world about the African American struggle for freedom, equality and respect. I look forward to interpret Nina Simone’s own songs and some of the many beautiful songs she interpreted and made her very own. Velkommen til Onkel Dannys Plads, som ligger i hjertet af Vesterbro kun 5 min fra Hovedbanegården. Onkel Dannys Plads er placeret i Den Brune Kødby, som del af de fine gamle bygninger, der opstod i slutningen af 1800-tallet, da byens slagtere skulle have et nyt slagteområde under hensyn til et stærk stigende befolkningstal og øget bevidsthed om hygiejne.
I dag er Onkel Dannys Plads et attraktivt område og en markant del af det københavnske kulturliv. Onkel Dannys Plads er en gårdplads, men også et skabende kulturfællesskab, som blandt andet rummer et spisehus, koncertsteder, eventspace og atelier.
