Det er en af de mest levende og sammenspillede jazz-trioer, den består af Makiko Hirabayashi Trio - Marilyn Mazur og Klavs Hovman
Musikken er inspireret af elementer fra jazz, klassisk musik, det nordiske tonesprog og fra det fjerne Østen. Makiko Hirabayashi er opvokset i Japan, men har siden 1990 boet i Danmark. I 2001 dannede hun trioen med percussionisten Marilyn Mazur og med Klavs Hovman på bas. Sammen har de udgivet 3 albums.
Den herboende, japanske jazzmusiker Makiko Hirabayashi er i dén grad en pianist, der er værd at holde øje med og lytte til.
