The Weather Report Project består af fem dedikerede og erfarne musikere, som hylder fusionsmusikkens hellige gral og leverer et show, der må glæde enhver Weather Report-fan.
Til trods for deres forskelligheder skabte Joe Zawinul og Wayne Shorter i Weather Report et homogent repertoire kendetegnet ved spændende og energisk rytmik og stærkt melodisk indhold, så musikken den dag i dag er vedkommende og inciterende og stadig kan aflokkes nye facetter. Det er præcis ærindet for The Weather Report Project.
Weather Reports gyldne periode var fra 1976 til 1983, hvor bassisten Jaco Pastorius var med. Med albummet Heavy Weather opnåede Weather Report som det første fusionsband næsten samme popularitetshøjder som rockens superstars. The Weather Report Projects repertoire er først og fremmest fra denne gyldne periode.
Som bekendt er Weather Report for længst ophørt med at eksistere, men med The Weather Report Project får du en oplevelse fra en fantastisk tid – live og for fuld udblæsning.
