    Description

    WHO?
Andrew Turner is the current director and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Esri’s Research and Development Center in Washington, DC. His work focuses on cross-domain collaboration and democratizing the map making process, creating open tools for cartography and analysis. His team develops new technologies for government and citizen collaboration to build communities. This includes the global ArcGIS Open Data network for open access to authoritative data, as well as open-source and interactive tools and applications to build and share insights and solutions.

    WHERE?
On Monday the 11th of June he is coming by BLOXHUB to share his knowledge and experiences with open data and GeoHub.

    WHY?
Cities are facing increasingly complex challenges that will require the coordination and ingenuity of everyone in the community. Digital collaboration has the potential to dramatically improve how the public engages with government in short, iterative feedback loops of action and information. In this talk, he’ll share their experience building a geospatial collaboration platform where the public can build upon the digital infrastructure of the city to become partners in co-creating innovative civic solutions.
