Djursland Spillemænd startede i 1974 og kan således slutte sig til den eksklusive del af den danske rockscene, der har kunnet fejre 40-års jubilæum i branchen.
Det musikalske koncept er nu som dengang keltisk inspireret folk-rock kombineret med egne rocknumre og unikke fortolkninger fra den danske sangskat.Der kan også sagtens dukke bluegrass,skandinavisk folkemusik og blues op på repertoire-planen og den musikalske mangfoldighed gør, at bandet stadig er et suverænt live-band med masser af spilleglæde og vilje til at få musikken helt op at stå på de høje nagler.
Djursland Spillemænd blev for alvor landskendte, da bandet medvirkede på den første Christiania-plade med nummeret ”Christianitter, jydske knejte” og siden har orkestret spillet overalt i landet på musikhuse, festivaler,TV, radio,osv.
Med en ny udvidet besætning ,et fornyet repertoire+ 40 års jubilæum i 2014,: er bandet klar til at fortsætte deres
”Never ending Tour” med den forrygende blanding af egne rock-numre og keltisk inspireret folk-rock, der altid har kendetegnet Djursland Spillemænd.
