Det amerikanske præsidentvalg blev helt sikkert påvirket af falske nyheder, der var sat i cirkulation på sociale medier. Begge sider af alle Mellemøstens mange konflikter planter systematisk og bevidst manipulerede billeder og oplysninger på Twitter og Facebook. Men også herhjemme bliver journalister på daglig basis forsøgt snydt og manipuleret på de sociale medier.
Derfor kommer britiske Alastair Reid fra First Draft News til Danmark for at vise, hvordan man systematisk kan spotte manipulationerne og usandhederne i sit feed.
Han vil vise best practice inden for verificering af indhold fra sociale medier.
Det bliver et meget konkret oplæg med masser af eksempler og enkle retningslinjer at tage med hjem til redaktionen, så man undgår at blive spændt for en vogn.
Alastair Reid er en af mændene bag grundbogen om emnet: The Verification Handbook.
Han er chefredaktør på First Draft News, der er støttet af blandt andet Google News Lab. Det er en samling af organisationer, der arbejder professionelt med brugergenereret indhold i nyhedsproduktion. Han er tidligere redaktør på journalism.co.uk, Storbritanniens største nyhedssite om medier.
