Japanske Drive my Car vises i Herlev Teaterbio I et samarbejde mellem Teaterbio og den lokale art cinemaforening Filmpaletten.
En to timer og 59 minutter lang eksistentiel køretur i en gammel Saab.
Der er lagt op til en helt særlig roadmovie i Hamaguchis Drive my Car baseret på et litterært forlæg af den berømte japanske forfatter Haruki Murakami.
Filmen snuppede årets Ocarstatuette for International Feature Film foran danske Flugt. Nu vises filmen i Herlev Teaterbio med kyndig intro af den danske Murakami oversætter Mette Holm.
Undervejs bliver der en pause, hvor publikum får serveret en gratis øl eller sodavand. Det hele koster 120 kroner.
Arrangementet skal give det lokale publikum mulighed for at opleve en interessant film, mens den stadig er aktuel.
Mette Holm introducerer Murakami filmen – Drive my car
Mette Holm er særligt er kendt for sine oversættelser af Haruki Murakami fra japansk til dansk. Hun dækker ikke kun oversættelse af bøger, men også film baseret på Murakami bøger, f.eks. Drive my car og den koreanske Burning.
Mette Holm er gennem sit arbejde kommet meget tæt på Murakamis særlige univers, dette er også glimrende skildret i dokumentarfilmen Dreaming Murakami.
Inden vi skal se filmen, så vil Mette Holm fortælle om filmens baggrund fra Murakamis novellesamling Mænd uden kvinder. Vi slutter aftenen, efter filmen, hvor Mette Holm runder af og binder de sidste tråde sammen.
