OM FILMEN:Vores forbrug af plastik er gået helt over gevind. I hvert fald, hvis man kigger på, hvor meget plastik, vi producerer – og hvor meget der ender i naturen. Produktionen af plastik er 20 gange større i dag end for 50 år siden, og da plastik er et uhyre holdbart materiale har store konsekvenser for miljøet og dyrelivet, når det ender i naturen.
Vi udleder i dag omkring 10 millioner ton plastik til verdenshavene hvert eneste år. Hvis udviklingen fortsætter, vil vores forbrug og udledning af plastik stige så meget, at verdenshavene i 2025 vil indeholde et ton plastik for hver tre ton fisk. Det betyder ikke alene noget for dyrelivet i havet, men også for os som mennesker. Hver gang vi spiser fisk, får vi også en bid mikroplastik med.
Michael Søgaard Jørgensen er lektor ved Institut for Planlægning og vil efter filmens visning holde foredrag om bærdygtig udvikling.
