SMK’s store efterårsudstilling har fokus på familien.
I udstillingen Family Stories præsenterer den anerkendte britiske kunstner Gillian Wearing værker, der fortæller historier om familier, identitet og relationer.
Oplev mødet mellem billedkunsten og litteraturen, når kurator, overinspektør og seniorforsker Marianne Torp taler om familien i kunsten med den prisbelønnede, norske forfatter, journalist og kritiker Linn Ullmann.
"Der er brug for andre måder at anskue og italesætte de nye familieskaber, som følger med skilsmisser, regnbuefamilier, familier med kun én forælder med flere. De kan være udfordrende, men det indeholder også et positivt potentiale for nye relationer og definitioner af hvad det vil sige at være familie. Her kan kunsten kan være med til at pege på nye og anderledes måder at tænke familien på. Kunsten kan give et bud på, hvordan man selv kan navigere, også i den del af livet", fortæller Marianne Torp.
En af dem, der har brugt familien som grundstof i kunsten er den norske forfatter, journalist og kritiker Linn Ullmann. Hendes seneste roman er det anmelderroste familieportræt De Urolige, som blev nomineret til Nordisk Råds Litteraturpris 2016.
