I næsten to år har instruktør Lene Borch arbejdet på dokumentaren om Jørn Utzon sammen med Anna von Lowzow. Filmen er et rørende og stærkt portræt af Utzon som menneske, far og arkitekt, og man kan ikke undgå at blive dybt fascineret af ham - uanset om man interesserer sig for arkitektur eller ej. Nu kan du for første gang se den i København, når Dansk Arkitektur Center (DAC) afholder dansk premiere på filmen. Samtidig kan du opleve udstillingen ’Jørn Utzon – Horisont’ og møde instruktøren.
Filmen bygger på interviews med Utzons børn og tidligere ansatte samt på et stort arkivmateriale og helt nye optagelser af Utzons hovedværker.
Centralt i filmen står den dramatiske historie om Operahuset i Sydney, der vendte fuldstændig op og ned på Utzon-familiens liv – og som gjorde det svært for Utzon at få job i Danmark efterfølgende. En vigtig rolle spiller Utzons hustru, Lis, som han delte sit livs med- og modgang med gennem 70 år.
Filmen er i dens endelige form kun blevet vist i Sydney, så det er en stor fornøjelse for DAC at invitere dig til premieren i København.
