Poul Joachim Stender mener, at vores tilværelse styres af frygten for livet frem for glæden ved det. Tyveri-, ulykkes-, og indboforsikringer, overvågningsalarmer, kostplaner mod livsstilssygdomme, etc. Men vort liv burde ikke være bestemt af frygten for livet – eller døden. Men derimod af glæden ved at være i levende live uanset hvor svær tilværelsen kan være.
