De 40 irakiske helligdage kaldet Arbayyin (arabisk for 40) lakker mod enden. Det har sydet og sprudlet i de irakiske gadekøkkener dag og nat for at mætte de mange millioner af dedikerede pilgrimme, der har vandret mellem de hellige byer Najaf og Karbala i det sydlige Irak.Kulturtårnet inviterer derfor indenfor til lækker irakisk Street Food i ånden af, hvad der kan nok kan kaldes verdens længste sammenhængende Street Food marked.Så kom glad og sulten til duften og smagen af Irak!
MADEN
Den irakisk-jødiske ’Sabich’ (fyldt pitabrød) er et rent overflødighedshorn af lækre sager.
Oprindelig opfundet som en spise til Sabbatten blandt irakiske jøder, så sælges den nu hos et hvert gadekøkken med respekt for sig selv i Israel.
Til sabich’en serveres krydrede kartofler og forskelligt tilbehør.
Aftenen sluttes af med traditionel arabisk kaffe og en irakisk småkage, der serveres ved højtider.
Det er som altid muligt at købe frisk naturvin, brusende øl og lækre sodavand til maden.
Aftenens menu er vegetar-venlig.

EVENT
The celebration of the Iraqi pilgrimage Arbaeen (Arabic for forty) is about to end.
During these forty days the sound of sizzling and frying from the streets kitchens has been non-stop to feed the many millions of pilgrims walking between the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.
The Culture Tower invites you for a taste of Iraqi Street Food in the spirit of what could be labeled as the longest continuous dining table in the World.
THE FOOD
The Iraqi Jewish ‘Sabich’ is the king of pitas.
Originally invented for the Sabbat it is now sold at any self-respecting Fast Food stand in Israel.
As side dish to the sabich there will be spicy potatoes and different condiments.
The evening ends with traditional Arabic coffee and an Iraqi cookie served during holidays.
Nature Wine, beer and soda drinks are available.
The menu is vegetarian-friendly.
