Den lille græshoppe Grethe elsker at hoppe og har ikke tid til at sidde stille og lytte til de voksne græshopper. Men en dag kommer hun til at lave et kæmpespring og farer vild i den vide verden. Grethe synes, at verden er både sjov og spændende, men også skræmmende og ensom.
Heldigvis hjælper hendes gode venner sneglene hende på vej, hvis de altså kan følge med….
Græshoppe Salsa er en munter og gennem musikalsk forestilling om ikke at kunne sidde stille og at længes ud, - om fællesskab og ensomhed - men også om at være lykkelig for at kunne finde hjem igen.
Publikum bliver inddraget i historien og deltager med sang og skuespil, - men hovedpersonen,,,, hun er svær at fange…..
